Sweden’s SSC Space, Firefly Aerospace, in a trans-Atlantic success story, set 2028 orbital flight from Sweden’s Esrange

BALLYSEEDE, Ireland — Sweden’s SSC Space and US launch-service provider FIrefly Aerospace said they have concluded sufficient regulatory and technical preparations to announce a first launch of Firefly’s Alpha vehicle from Sweden’s Esrange facility in 2028.

Sweden and the United States have already signed a Technology Safeguards Agreement (TSA) governing protections for US launcher technology in Sweden.

In April, the Swedish National Space Agency and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) signed a cooperation agreement to streamline launch . . .
