US regulators OK Audacy purchase by Australia’s EOS; co. to invest $738M in 4-satellite, MEO orbit relay service

PARIS — Electro Optic Systems Holdings Ltd. (EOS) of Australia has completed its purchase of satellite data-relay startup Audacy Space and expects to spend 1.2 billion Australian dollars ($738 million) on a four-satellite, MEO-orbit data-relay system to be operational starting in 2024.

The company said it expects vendor financing and partner contributions to allow EOS to delay 75% of the capital cost to 2024 and beyond.
