OHB to European governments: Invest now in Europe’s spaceport to capture demand and industry will follow

TUPPER LAKE, NY — Space hardware provider OHB SE of Germany said Europe’s Ariane 6 rocket is at risk of losing German and other government and commercial business if European political authorities don’t agree to a sharp ramp-up in launch capacity soon.

In an Aug. 6 investor call, OHB Chief Executive Marco Fuchs said that because much of the needed investment will occur at Europe’s Guiana Space Center spaceport, on South America’s northeast cost, the investment has to be the source of a political agreement . . .
