Arbitration panel rules for Spire in dispute with NorthStar Earth & Space; NorthStar says it’s still owed 4 replacement satellites

TUPPER LAKE, NY — Satellite-based space situational awareness service provide NorthStar Earth & Space has lost its two-year arbitration against Spire Global alleging under-performance of four Spire-built NorthStar satellites and awarded Spire about $12.4 million in counterclaims against NorthStar.

NorthStar had sought damages of $45.9 million, alleging breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation by Spire, notably Spire’s refusal to build four replacement satellites to compensate for the loss of one of the first group and below-specification performance on the other three launched . . .
