LA PLATA, Maryland — The 30-nation Eumetsat meteorological organization, after months of delays, has secured the necessary support of its governments to start the EPS-Sterna constellation of polar-orbiting satellites to provide high-frequency data on atmospheric temperature and clouds.
The decision was delayed as several Eumetsat governments asked for additional time to secure their budgets. A late-November meeting of the Eumetsat Council confirmed that the program would begin.
Darmstadt, Germany-based Eumetsat on Jan. 12 said 29 of its members . . .
