Kratos, an established military contractor, says it’s struggling keep up with New Space salaries for scarce talent

LA PLATA, Maryland — Kratos Defense and Security Solutions Inc. said its space and satellite business is expected to grow 12-14% in 2023, with significantly higher profit, despite a last-minute customer-ordered delay for a piece of a large government satellite program.

The growth will also face headwinds from what Kratos Chief Executive Eric DeMarco said was an “incredibly tight labor market” for qualified technicians, some of whom are being lured by the higher salaries of New Space startups.
