LA PLATA, Maryland — Small satellite Hall-effect electric thruster manufacturer Orbion Space Technology is ramping production from its Michigan site after concluding that demand currently exceeds supply as the number of Hall-effect thruster providers has narrowed.
Orbion said it has recently delivered 33 of its Aurora propulsion modules to York Space Systems for an unspecified military application. York is a major provider of satellites to the US Space Development Agency (SDA) multi-layered missile defense/missile warning network.
