Swedish military buys radar & optical satellites for $141M in contracts with Iceye and Planet Labs; deliveries start this year

LA PLATA, Maryland — The Swedish arms procurement agency, FMV, is purchasing 10 high-resolution radar and optical satellites following separate contracts with Iceye of Finland and Planet Labs of the United States with a combined value of 1.3 billion Swedish krona ($141 million).

The satellites are expected to be delivered between 2026 and 2028, the Swedish Defense Ministry said in a Jan. 12 statement.
