Australia’s EOS stops financing of optical data-relay constellation SpaceLink, which will enter liquidation

LA PLATA, Maryland — Australia’s Electro Optic Systems Holdings Ltd. (EOS) is ending its investment in U.S.-based satellite optical data-relay constellation startup SpaceLink, preparing SpaceLink for liquidation.

The decision, which was not surprising given EOS’s financial situation, unrelated to SpaceLink, and also given SpaceLink’s inability to find investors to take over from EOS and develop the medium-Earth-orbit network.

Whether the fire-sale liquidation procedure — called an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC) — will encourage investors . . .
