TUPPER LAKE, NY — Europe’s Ariane 6 heavy-lift rocket’s successful launch of the second Meteosat Third Generation’s Imaging satellite, MTG-I2, is Ariane 6’s fourth of the year and keeps it on track to complete three or four more missions this year.
In a sign of the times, it was the eighth operational launch of Ariane 6 but the first mission to geostationary-transfer orbit, which used to be the rocket’s breadwinner mission profile.
