UK minister promises larger ESA investment, protections for non-UK tech workers; ESA has ideas for UK in Copernicus

PARIS — Britain’s space minister reiterated the UK’s commitment to the 22-nation European Space Agency (ESA) after Brexit and said Britain is prepared to increase its ESA budget at a November conference of ministers.

Addressing the U.K. Space Conference Sept. 24 in Wales, Chris Skidmore, who will lead Britain’s delegation to the Nov. 27-28 conference, said he “will be making strong representations that, as a nation, we will need to increase our contribution, to strengthen our collaboration and to lead the way in lunar . . .
