LA PLATA, Maryland — Swedish military/government mobile satcom terminal builder Ovzon AB’s multi-year effort to operate its own satellite faced an unusual number of roadblocks and associated cost increases over the past five years that would have caused some investors to thrown in the towel.

They included:

Multiple manufacturing delays at Ovzon 3 satellite prime contractor Maxar Technologies, some caused by the Covid pandemic, others by the reaction-wheel problem at Honeywell Aerospace.
