Orbital launch by RFA from UK’s SaxaVord this year now looks credible as licensing comes together

LAMPOLDSHAUSEN, Germany — Scotland’s SaxaVord Spaceport and Germany’s Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) said they are on track to inaugurate RFA’s RFA One rocket and the spaceport’s orbital-launch license as early as August.

As is often the case for inaugural missions, things may still get in the way.

But RFA Chief Commercial Officer Jörn Spurmann said the company’s launch operator license with the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) was filed a year ago and “it looks very positive . . .
