Maxar: 1st Legion launch slips into Q4 on software delay; co. says can reduce impact w/ closely spaced SpaceX launches

LA PLATA, Maryland — The launch of the first pair of Maxar Technologies’ Legion high-resolution imaging satellites has slipped into Q4 after delays in software validation of the satellites, Maxar said.

But the company has been able to reduce the time between the first and second launches, to two months from three, and expects it will also be able to reduce the time spent on in-orbit commissioning after launch, Maxar Chief Executive Dan Jablonsky said in an Aug. 9 investor call.
