LA PLATA, Maryland — The Italian government has contracted launches of its Sicral 3A and Sicral 3B military communications satellites on SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets scheduled for launch windows of between February and November 2027 and November 2027 and January 2028, respectively.
The original contracts with Thales Alenia Space for the satellites and Telespazio for the ground segment date from 2021, but the financing was divided into multiple slices that ultimately resulted in a 2026 launch.
