German-Indian venture positions itself for a world where 5 mass-production satellite factories is enough

LOGAN, Utah — A German smallsat component manufacturer has teamed with an Indian company for mass production of satellites on the assumption that global constellation satellite demand will need no more than five major manufacturers.

Berlin Space Technologies (BST) and its Indian partner, Azista, are setting up a U.S. partner to perform assembly, integration and test of satellite systems deemed too sensitive to be contracted outside the United States.
