LA PLATA, Maryland — The European Parliament appears favorable to the revised EU defense and space budget of 125 billion euros ($145.4 billion) for the 2028-2034 budget cycle, a 4.6% decline from the originally proposed 131 billion euros that was opposed on budget grounds, an EU Commission official said May 26.
What the Parliament does will ultimately be matched with decisions still to come by the European Council. In the past, the Parliament has succeeded in restoring space funding from reductions decided by the Council.
