Cubesat builder GomSpace reports $86.6M backlog, weighs spinoff of satellite signal-verification business

PARIS — Cubesat manufacturer GomSpace said its backlog as of March 31 stood at $86.6 million and that it expected to convert some $15 million of it into revenue in 2018 — a key performance year for the fast-growing company.

Of this backlog, 96.5% is for commercial missions, with 2% dedicated to science applications, 0.85% for military customers and 0.5% for university or other academic customers.

GomSpace is prime contractor for three large cubesat constellations — narrowband communications network Sky and Space Global, communications/imagery/AIS provider . . .
