Iridium trims 2025 service growth to 4% from 6%, keeps EBITDA forecast; shares fall 20%; D2D trials on track for 2026

LA PLATA, Maryland — Mobile satellite service provider Iridium Communications said its maritime broadband customers’ substitution of Iridium with Starlink as their primary communications provider, moving Iridium to a backup role, is happening more quickly than expected, forcing Iridium to reduce its expected broadband service revenue this year.

The lowered outlook means Iridium’s total service revenue growth in 2025 will be 4% at the midpoint of the forecast compared to 6% previously.
