LA PLATA, Maryland — Members of the European Parliament committee that will be key in coordinating adoption of the European Commission’s next seven-year space budget are opposing the Commission’s plan to place the space program into a broad competitiveness fund without any commitment to specific space priorities or funding levels.
The Commission, in a draft budget proposal disclosed by euractiv.com, argue that it needs flexibility in budget implementation and should not be tied by specific program amounts over a seven-year period.
