ESA: Here’s how we’ll spend the $5.45B our governments invested in space transportation at November ministerial

LA PLATA, Maryland — Europe’s launcher sector was a clear winner at the European Space Agency (ESA) CM25 ministerial council, securing 4.689 billion euros ($5.45 billion) of support.

Nearly half of it, 2.2 billion euros, was directed to the Ariane 6 heavy-lift vehicle’s ecosystem — annual subsidies until the vehicle’s 43rd launch, maintenance of testing facilities, expanding its production to increase flight rate and improving its payload-carrying performance.

The headline figure includes 680 million for five years of upkeep . . .
