ESA, European Defence Agency to asses future ISR sensors; bids for ESA architecture contract due May 5

LA PLATA, Maryland — The European Space Agency (ESA) has set a May 5 deadline for industry to propose a system architecture for the future European Union Earth Observational Governmental System (EOGS), a global intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) constellation.

ESA’s role in EOGS is to get the program started, with the system architecture and up to four orbital demonstrators, so that the 27-nation European Commission can move directly into development once its EOGS budget is settled.
