Peroxide, Iodine, Hall-Effect… In-orbit thruster technology moving forward, but production ramp is a challenge

AMSTERDAM — Startup Spanish green satellite and rocket propulsion designer Arkadia Space said the success of its first orbital mission with last-mile-delivery provider D-Orbit has moved the technology to TRL 8-9, making it ready for industrial production.

Arkadia’s high-test peroxide-fueled DARK module was launched March 15 attached to D-Orbit’s Ion carrier aboard SpaceX’s Transporter 13 mission.

D-Orbit Commercial Strategy Vice President Matteo Andreas Lorenzoni confirmed that Dark had performed to specifications:
