SES’s Collar: You want LEO operators to improve their behavior? Deny them market access

NOORDWIJK, Netherlands — SES Chief Executive Steve Collar is stepping outside of his usual talking points to address the growing risk of crowding in low Earth orbit and the need for satellite broadband providers to adopt mobile network operators’ practice of sharing capacity in return for scale.

Both call for industry-wide responses and are not SES-specific concerns.

Like Viasat Chairman Mark Dankberg, Collar may find that bringing up LEO crowding and collision/debris risk is a thankless job: become a subscriber!
