BERLIN —The Rheinmetall-Iceye joint venture to provide SAR radar imagery for Germany’s military has expanded its mandate to include coordination of an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) satellite network with German New Space partners specializing in high-resolution optical and thermal imaging.
The announcement was made here June 10 during the ILA 2026 Berlin air show. The biannual show’s military space profile this year was raised to unprecedented levels following the German military’s 2025 announcement that it would spend 35 billion euros ($40.4 billion) by 2030 . . .
