LA PLATA, Maryland — Satellite manufacturer MDA Space of Canada, already building two constellations for Globalstar/Apple in addition to the Telesat Lightspeed network, said it’s likely that it will add one or two more within the year.
MDA’s high-volume digital satellite factory is expected to start production later this year for Lightspeed and for Globalstar’s 50-plus-satellite second-generation constellation, whose precise features are undisclosed but will certainly include enhanced direct-to-device (D2D) features for Apple iPhone users.
