KT Sat, on the 5G front line, researches satellite-5G interoperability in Europe’s Horizon 2020 program

SINGAPORE — KT Sat, a commercial satellite fleet operator whose domestic market is moving to 5G faster than any other nation, reported initial success in its multi-year plan to boost revenue outside of South Korea.

A wholly owned subsidiary of KT Group, KT Sat reported 2018 revenue of some 137 billion Korean won ($123 million), down slightly from a year earlier. But the company said its non-Korean revenue was up 59% for the year, to $18 million, with a 15% increase in that business expected in 2019.
