Kratos: Space & satcom is 30% of our revenue; move to software-defined will trim growth but boost profit

PARIS — Satellite hardware and services provider Kratos Defense and Security Solutions said transitioning from analog hardware to software-defined satellite products will slow the division's revenue growth but boost profitability.

The trend, already visible in the company’s 2019 results, will not stop the revenue growth of the company’s satellite-related business, which accounted for about 30% of Kratos’s total 2019 revenue of $717.5 million, Chief Executive Eric M. DeMarco said during a Feb 24 investor call.
