Intelsat lays out legal challenge to FCC proposed C-band order one week before expected FCC vote

PARIS — Intelsat said the U.S. Federal Communications Commission does not have legal authority to take 60% of the C-band spectrum now used by satellite fleet operators in the United States without their consent, setting up a likely legal challenge if the FCC does not revamp its proposed order.

The FCC is scheduled to vote on its C-band proposal on Feb. 28.

The comment period on the proposal closed Feb. 21. Intelsat was among several parties, including fleet operators SES, Eutelsat, Hispasat . . .
