Iridium: It’ll take 10-15 years before direct-to-device market reaches the scope and scale of today’s investor hype

TUPPER LAKE, NY — The future direct-to-device (D2D) business that analysts continue to hype as a multibillion-dollar market may one day arrive but it will take 10-15 years as satellite networks adapt and regulators set operating conditions, Iridium Communications Chief Executive Matt Desch said.
