Intelsat C-band plan: New satellites to include non-C-band payloads; selection of launchers, 7th satellite in September

CARSAC DE GURSON, France — Fleet operator Intelsat still intends to add non-C-band payloads to some of the seven satellites it’s building as part of a U.S. government-managed repackaging of C-band spectrum over the United States despite the objections of rivals Eutelsat, EchoStar, Hughes Network Systems and Inmarsat.

SES continues to face opposition from fellow operators, but not from Intelsat, to its plan . . .
