French startup U-Space, which built Europe’s first SSA satellite, judged successful in orbit, closes $27.8M Series A

LA PLATA, Maryland — Startup small satellite builder U-Space of France, has raised 24 million euros ($27.8 million) in Series A funding as it focuses on European and export markets for satellite constellations.

The Toulouse-based company in September signed a contract with the UAE’s National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC) to build a 12U satellite to test a dual payload for Earth observation and low-orbit positioning, navigation and timing services. The UAE has said it plans a constellation of satellites to perform the same . . .
