AMSTERDAM — Three European organizations — The EU Satellite Centre, the 30-nation Eumetsat and Spanish aerospace research institute Inta, which has a role in the EU SST space surveillance effort — offered different assessments of whether they needed to reduce their dependence on the United States and pursue data autonomy.
It’s a question now being discussed in multiple European commercial and government bodies as they take stock of what non-European capacity they need for their operations, and whether it’s urgent to reduce it.
