Airbus: Commercial geospatial imagery market is not growing that fast

LA PLATA, Maryland — Airbus cautioned European governments that the global commercial Earth observation market is growing much more slowly than some market projections would have it and that governments remain, by far, the sector’s dominant actors.

Airbus Defence and Space, which through its predecessor company, Spot Image, invented commercial Earth observation in the late 1980s, said the global market has evolved in ways Airbus did not predict.
