LA PLATA, Maryland — The newly formed Reinmetall Iceye Space Solutions joint venture will build several dozen radar satellites for the German defense procurement agency, BAAINBw in a contract valued at 1.7 billion euros ($2 billion) between now and 2030, with an option to extend it beyond that.

Satellite production will begin by mid-2026 from the JV’s new facility in Neuss, Germany, which was decided when the JV was formed in May for the express purpose of capturing orders from the German Bundeswehr.
