Telesat: IPO not until Q3; full $344M FCC C-band payment expected this year or H1 2022; Lightspeed financing advances

PARIS — Satellite fleet operator Telesat reported lower revenue and operating income for the three months ending March 31, mainly because of the Covid pandemic’s effects on the company’s maritime and aero mobility businesses, and said its 15-satellite fleet was 79% used.

Telesat has habitually reported high EBITDA margins compared to fellow operators that have vertically integrated to provide services directly to end uses. In Q1 2021, Telesat’s EBITDA margin was 79%, compared to 80% a year ago.
