Rwanda Space Agency: Our 300,000 satellite ITU filing ‘made noise for all the good reasons, compares well with SpaceX’

PARIS — The Rwanda Space Agency takes pride in the fact that it made waves in late 2021 by submitting a filing to international regulators for more than 300,000 satellites, saying it compares favorably to SpaceX’s failure to get full U.S. regulatory approval for nearly 30,000 second-generation Starlink satellites.

The agency’s chief strategy officer, Joseph Abakunda, said the filing at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), demonstrates that our “regulatory piece is really alive and competitive on the global scale.”
