Rocket builder Avio: We’ve come through 5 painful months of Covid and post-failure return to flight. Now we’re ready to roll

PARIS — Rocket-hardware builder Avio SpA reported a sharp decline in revenue and profit for the three months ending March 31 caused by the slowdown in production related to the return to flight of the Vega rocket, compounded by Covid effects.

But the company said backlog was stable thanks to advance orders for new Vega rockets and an early bulk order for Ariane 6 heavy-lift launcher components from Vega and Ariane operator Arianespace.
