Quantum conundrum: UK satellite QKD startup Arqit developed tech w/ ESA but likely can’t be part of EU Quantum constellation

PARIS — Startup satellite-based quantum key distribution service provider Arqit Ltd. of Britain will merge with Centricus Acquisition Corp. and be listed on the U.S. Nasdaq stock market under a transaction that Centricus values at $1.4 billion, with an Arqit enterprise value of $1 billion.

Arqit, a four-year-old company that has received funding from the 22-nation European Space Agency (ESA), is developing two small satellites to launch into low Earth orbit no earlier than 2023 aboard Virgin Orbit
