Rocket builder Avio: We can absorb 2-3 months of Covid-19 shutdowns, hope for early reopening of Europe’s spaceport

PARIS — Rocket-hardwire builder Avio S.p.A. received approval from regional Italian authorities to continue production despite Italy’s Covid-19 confinement rules and said it is optimistic the French government will approve a similar waiver for Europe’s Guiana Space Center spaceport.

Located in French Guiana on the northeast coast of South America, the Guiana site is on French territory. Launch activity has been shut down since March 15 as part of France’s Covid-19 confinement rules.

Apparently only those spaceport activities . . .
