LA PLATA, Maryland — The joint venture of Germany’s diversified defense hardware provider Rheinmetall AG and Finnish radar satellite builder/operator Iceye Oy is on the verge of booking its first big contract with a 40-satellite order from the German military.
German economics daily Handelsblatt on Oct. 24 quoted Rheinmetall Chief Executive Armin Papperger as saying the contract calls for 40 satellites to be delivered to the Bundeswehr in the next two years.
