Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) broadband plan: Non-GEO operators only please

PARIS — The global battle between GEO and non-GEO satellite broadband providers for the hearts and minds of emerging nations’ governments will be settled nation by nation, and 2022-2023 is likely to be when first results are known.

That’s when the SpaceX Starlink and OneWeb constellations will be in full commercial service, and when a new generation of GEO-orbit high-throughput satellites from Viasat Inc., Eutelsat, the Indonesian government and others are scheduled to arrive on the market.
