TUPPER LAKE, NY— International Telecommunication Union (ITU) regulators declined to accept a one-year extension of a deployment deadline for Open Cosmos’s proposed broadband constellation pending receipt of further information on what the company has done to develop the project.
Meeting June 29-July 3, the ITU’s Radio Regulations Board (RRB) told Open Cosmos and its regulator, Liechtenstein’s AK Office for Communications, to return with the additional information at the RRB’s next meeting, scheduled Oct.26-30.
