ITU board rejects US, Norwegian claims that SpaceX Starlink cannot geolocate its terminals in Iran

LA PLATA, Maryland — The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) cannot answer obviously disingenuous comments from its member governments by saying: “Is this a joke?”

Instead, it invites them to “provide clarification” and then “provide further clarification” in a back and forth that takes many months and may or may not resolve an issue.

So it is with the Iranian government’s year-long attempt to get the ITU’s Radio Regulations Board (RRB) to pressure Norwegian and U.S. regulators to stop SpaceX Starlink
