Iridium: Handset, personal consumer communications business growing now; direct-to-device is for later

PARIS — Mobile satellite services provider Iridium Communications said growth in its handset business — once thought of as yesterday’s hardware — will grow by between 5% and 10% per year for the next three years as higher-speed Certus capability and a push-to-talk function is added and Iridium’s price increase takes effect.
