International satcom group asks Intelsat Chapter 11 court to allow separate ICC arbitration to proceed

PARIS — The international organization that oversees Intelsat’s compliance with public-service obligations is asking Intelsat’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy court to allow it to continue an international arbitration to force Intelsat to pay back dues.

The 149-nation ITSO, or International Telecommunications Satellite Organization, since November 2019 has been pursuing Intelsat through a case at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for payment of ITSO’s fiscal-year 2020 and 2021 funding.
