Hungary’s 4iG offers to buy Israeli satellite operator Spacecom for 2.5X 2020 EBITDA

PARIS — Hungary’s fast-growing 4iG PLC telecommunications operator proposed to purchase 51% of Israeli satellite fleet operator Spacecom in a transaction that values Spacecom at $127.5 million — half the valuation that a Chinese company was willing to use in a 2016 acquisition attempt that was later withdrawn.

Budapest-based 4iG said it had proposed to purchase 51% of Spacecom for $65 million, pending the approval of the Israeli Ministry of Communications and Spacecom’s shareholders.
