German Defense Minister: Schedule is crucial in space buildup; Sparrow milsatcom satellite on track for 2027 SpaceX launch

TUPPER LAKE, NY— German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stressed the need for Germany’s space industry to keep their schedule commitments as Germany proceeds with its unprecedented ramp-up of military space capability.

In July 14 remarks at satellite prime contractor  OHB SE's Bremen headquarters, Pistorius said he was pleased that OHB’s work on the SatcomBw-3 Sparrow, a small geostationary-orbit telecommunications satellite, was on track for a launch in 2027.

The satellite will be launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 . . .
