Eutelsat plans 528-satellite LEO constellation in addition to 440 satellites on order from Airbus and Iris2 commitment

TUPPER LAKE, NY — Eutelsat is planning a 528-satellite constellation of low-orbiting satellites, now in design, in addition to the 440-satellite OneWeb order  to Airbus Defence and Space, that could include optical inter-satellite links and other features absent from today’s 640-satellite OneWeb fleet, according to a Eutelsat filing with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
