French New Space to government: Recovery funds should feature competitive bidding; stop treating us as kids

PARIS — Seven French startup space companies selected by the French Economics Ministry to organize France’s New Space sector said France’s 2030 stimulus funds should be awarded based on competitive tenders, simplified contracting rules and a phased contracting procedure.

They further said that French government contracting authorities should stop treating New Space companies as children that need to be guided by established corporate players.

In a Feb. 7 statement, the seven startups said government contracts should not force startups and established companies to work together.
